Luck O’ the Castros
March 18 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
The direct hit from 1989’s Loma Prieta earthquake should have crumbled the Castro Adobe into a cloud of dust, but more than a century of hard work, (mostly) wise decisions, and yes, luck, kept the Castro Adobe (mostly) together. Enjoy a festive atmosphere and a snack from our restored cocina along with your sneak preview of this one-of-a-kind family home as it rises again as the centerpiece of the Pájaro Valley’s very own state historic park.
Free admission (donations gratefully accepted). Limited parking (carpooling encouraged). Active construction site, open only during scheduled events like this. Event made possible by Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks and California State Parks.
