This year, in response to park closures planned by the State, Friends is actively engaging with local and state-level leaders to advocate for greater flexibility to assist our parks—and hopefully keep them open. //READ MORE

Friends led Santa Cruz County’s Yes on 21 campaign.

Santa Cruz led California

In 2010 Friends led the campaign to keep our beaches safe with the successful Save Our Lifeguards Campaign. Friends also led Santa Cruz County’s Yes on 21 campaign keep parks open. Though the election results were deeply disappointing, the Santa Cruz County Yes on 21 vote was 68% — the highest in California and 25.4% higher than the statewide result! //READ MORE
