Movies @ The Mission: Jurassic Park 2
Santa Cruz Mission State "Jurassic" Park
Saturday, August 16th
Doors open at 7:00pm, Movie at Sunset
Thankfully, we do not have a real Jurassic State Park in our region, but we do have a much safer alternative for all you amateur paleontologists out there. Come and join us this Saturday for an outdoor screening of “Jurassic Park: The Lost World” at the Santa Cruz Mission Adobe!
A research team is sent to the Jurassic Park Site B island to study the dinosaurs there, while another team approaches with another agenda. (Rated PG-13 for sci-fi terror and violence).
The movie will be shown outside in the beautiful courtyard with spectacular views of Downtown Santa Cruz. Please bring your own chair or something comfortable to sit on as the seating area is over concrete. Low profile lawn chairs are permitted. Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis, although those with taller chairs will be requested to sit in the back.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Snack Shack with proceeds benefitting Friends. Don't miss the Dino Nuggets!
The Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park is located at 144 School Street, off Mission and Emmet Street in Santa Cruz.

Our Final First Friday was FABULOUS!
Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy our August First Friday @ The Mission with artist Erika Perloff and music by The Mystic Truebudoors!
(Click on the images below for larger version)
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening as the Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park hosted our final First Friday of the season. Local artist Erika Perloff displayed her beautiful artwork in the courtyard as guests perused the offerings and mingled to the groovy tunes of the Mystic Truebudoors

Special thanks to Erika, the Mystic Truebudoors and all the amazing volunteers who helped make it an evening to remember!
This event was the final First Friday of the season, but we look forward to more fun and festivities next season...see you there!
Update: Mole, Mariachis, and Zero Waste!
Friends has partnered with the Santa Cruz High School Environmental Club to make the second annual Mole & Mariachi Festival a zero-waste event!
The Zero Waste movement emphasizes waste prevention as opposed to end of pipe waste management. Recycling, composting, and reusing are fundamental principles of zero waste events and Friends is committed to providing a fun festival with the least environmental impact.
