PORTS Program celebrates 10th anniversary, earns state honor.
The Parks Online Resource for Teachers and Students (PORTS) program and State Parks Interpreter Vonnie Lemke, who teaches from Seacliff State Beach, recently earned a special commendation at the California State Parks Director's Recognition Awards Ceremony in Sacramento.

The program, which Friends funds a portion of, uses virtual classroom technology to bring our unique coastal environment to K-12 students across the state and beyond. Annually, approximately 8,000 students virtually visit Año Nuevo elephant seals and Natural Bridges butterflies via the Seacliff PORTS studio.

PORTS marks its 10th year of educating students in 2015. Learn more about PORTS in this Santa Cruz Sentinel article
